About Me

My name is Justin Weis, I am 21 years old and I live in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. I am the youngest of three sons to Timothry R. and Patricia R. Weis. Currently, I am attending Penn State University as a Landscape Contracting student working on my senior year. I chose Penn State due to its reputation regarding careers in the green industry and to continue the lineage of my family. At an early age, I was drawn to working outside, helping my father build landscapes, perform maintenance around the house, work as a mechanic, and a myriad of other tasks and related skills. As a youth I loved working and playing in the dirt and continue to this day.

Before high school, I "pestered" the owner of a Christmas tree farm to give me a job where I could work outside and operate equipment. It also helped that this farm was a short walk from my house. Through determination and persistence, he hired me and put me to work on the spot. I have worked for this tree nursery for the past seven years and I have learned a tremendous amount of viable knowledge. As I progressed in this business, it dawned on me that this was something I could see myself doing for the rest of my life.

My senior year of high school, I started my own lawn care service and began finding clients. I have since maintained this business and wish to continue to expand it once I possess my degree from Penn State. After being exposed to other large landscape firms, I have come to the realization that it would be highly beneficial to expand my skills and knowledge, and yet, still be able to bring to the table my own experiences and skills.

When not working, I can be seen riding ATVs, mountain biking, hiking, or playing a round of golf. I am also a municipal fire fighter with the Forks Township Fire Department. I have officially been with the department since 2003 and I am a third generation fire fighter in my family. These experiences have taught me the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively, and be able to lead by example. I enjoy what I do very much and hope to continue to fulfill my career goals far into the future.
